US 16-year-old sailor found safe

A 16 year old American girl who attempted to sail around the world on her own has been found a day after she had gone missing in the Indian Ocean.

The girl, Abby Sunderland, sent distress signals after her yacht was pounded by huge waves nearly 2,000 miles off the south African coast and midway to her destination in Australia.

Abby's parents posted reports of her rescue on her blog.
