Man injured in A20 crash in Kent dies in hospital


One of two men seriously injured when two heavy goods vehicles collided and caught fire in Kent has died.

Both carriageways of the A20 were closed for several hours after the vehicles crashed near Samphire Hoe at 1535 BST on Thursday.

Kent Police said a 54-year-old man died at the William Harvey Hospital in Ashford. The second man remains in a serious condition.

Both of the lorries were registered outside of the UK.

Six fire engines, a water unit and a foam unit, along with 60 firefighters and specialist vehicles dealt with the incident.

Kent Police has appealed for information on the accident, which happened near the Capel le Ferne roundabout.
