RNLI rescuers leave shoot for 999 call

Lifeboat crews in Dorset had to abandon filming with the BBC after a suspected distress flare sparked an alert.

The crews were filming with presenter Jodie Kidd in Swanage for the Country Tracks series on Wednesday.

But the shoot was abruptly halted at 2044 BST when a 999 call came in reporting a red flare near Old Harry Rocks.

The RNLI inshore and all-weather lifeboats searched the area but the call is believed to be a false alarm.
