Concern has been raised for the welfare of a missing man whose car was discovered in a car park in Surrey.

Michael Hayward, 43, from Byfleet, who is better known as Jack, called his partner at about 1100 BST on Wednesday and told her he was feeling unwell.

Mr Hayward suffers from diabetes and could be in need of medical attention.

Teams of officers and dogs have been searching common land around the Wrens Nest car park in Wisley Lane, Wisley, where his car was found.

Mr Hayward is described as white, about 5ft 11in (1.7m) tall, of a large build, with short brown hair.

He is clean shaven and has a tattoo of a guardian angel on his back.

It is believed he was wearing cream combat-type trousers and a white short-sleeved shirt.

Anyone who may have seen him is asked to contact police.
