Banbury mosque vandalised in night-time attack

A mosque in Banbury in Oxfordshire has been vandalised in a night-time attack.

One of the windows was smashed by stones thrown in from Merton Street in the early hours of Sunday and one of the outer doors was also damaged.

Thames Valley Police said they had received reports of three youths who were seen in the area at the time.

Pc Stephen Perry said: "I would be keen to speak with them about this matter so as to rule them out of our investigation."

He said officers also wanted to talk to anybody else who witnessed the mosque being vandalised or saw anyone or anything suspicious in the area at the time.
