Test Three: How blind to change are you?

Scientists at Queen Mary, University of London have invented a unique game of spot the difference to test why people fail to notice change.

The flashing images are two versions of the same scene where just one thing has been changed. Can you spot the difference in this test here?

This examines a phenomenon known as "change-blindness", where an apparently very big change to a scene is not noticed. We all unconsciously experience this every day, as our brain filters the barrage of visual information around us.

It could help explain why you might fail to notice a friend's radical new haircut.
