Two men arrested over Reading shooting

Two people have been arrested in connection with a shooting in Reading which left a man with injuries to one arm and both legs.

Officers were called to Grange Avenue late on Sunday. The 25-year-old is in hospital, where his condition is said to be improving.

A 27-year-old man from Coley and a 32-year-old man from Whitley are being questioned.

Police officers are searching properties as part of the inquiry.

Ch Supt Chris Shead, from Thames Valley Police, did not believe it was a random attack but said the motive was unclear.

Police said they expected further arrests to be made.

Grange Avenue was sealed off while investigations were carried out after the shooting.

Officers appealed for witnesses.
