Obama says Iran sanctions send 'unmistakable message'


President Obama has said that fresh sanctions against Iran over its nuclear programme send an "unmistakable message".

The UN Security Council voted 12 to two, with one abstention, in favour of a fourth round of sanctions, including tighter finance curbs and an expanded arms embargo.

Iran quickly vowed to continue its uranium enrichment activities.
