Man charged over 'sham marriage' in Oxford

A man has appeared at Oxford Magistrates' Court charged with two counts of perjury in connection with a suspected sham marriage in Oxfordshire.

Amrik Singh Dahnju, 30, who gave his address as Marshall Road, Cowley, was remanded in custody.

He was one of four people arrested at Oxford Register Office on Tuesday.

A British man was released on bail, a Polish woman was given a caution and a second Polish woman was released without charge.

Two addresses in the city were also raided in connection with the investigation, led by the UK Border Agency.
