Police have released details of a man they want to trace following a stabbing in Rotherham.

The 26-year-old victim was stabbed 12 times in the attack at Jacko's Car Wash in Old Sheffield Road at about 1345 BST on Saturday.

The man, who worked at the car wash, was taken to hospital for emergency surgery and has since been discharged.

Police said Iraq-born Ahmedi Reza, 23, had been missing since the attack and detectives want to speak to him.

It is believed the attacker got into a red BMW car and drove towards Wellgate in Rotherham.

The car has since been recovered on Spital Hill, in the Burngreave area of Sheffield, where Mr Reza lived.

Det Con Jamie Henderson said: "We firmly believe this was a targeted attack. I urge anyone with information regarding Mr Reza's whereabouts to contact police immediately."

Mr Henderson said Mr Reza, who has lived in the UK for about nine years, was known to have links to the Hull area.

He is described as dark skinned with short dark hair, 5ft 4in tall and thin with a lazy eye. He was last seen wearing dark bottoms and a striped T-shirt.
