Funeral held of Castleford woman who died in Crete

The funeral of a West Yorkshire woman who died in Crete has taken place in her home town of Castleford.

Chelsea Hyndman, 21, died on 17 May. Her boyfriend Luke Walker, 22, of Brierley Hill in the West Midlands has been charged with her murder.

The service for Ms Hyndman took place at All Saints Church in Castleford on Tuesday afternoon.

In an earlier tribute her mother Heather Hyndman said her daughter had been her best friend.

Ms Hyndman, a former pupil of Castleford High School, died the day after she was admitted to hospital in Heraklion suffering from severe abdominal pain.

She was transferred to the Venizelio hospital where she underwent emergency surgery but died in intensive care.

Mr Walker has been remanded in prison while a trial date is arranged.
