Tributes have been paid to a young father whose stabbed body was found on a footbridge in Leeds.

Sean Rodgers, 20, of Greenthorpe Road, Armley, was found on the bridge, close to the Stanningley bypass, on Monday morning.

A post-mortem examination showed he died of stab wounds. A 19-year-old Leeds man has been charged with murder.

Mr Rodgers, who was described by relatives as a "wonderful dad", leaves a three-year-old daughter.

'Greatly missed'

In a statement released by West Yorkshire Police, his relatives said: "Sean was a wonderful dad, son, grandson and so much more to his large and loving family.

"He adored his daughter who is a real Daddy's girl."

They added: "The manner of his death was tragic and has left a void in the lives of all who knew him. He will be greatly missed."

The man accused of murdering Mr Rodgers and possessing an offensive weapon is due to appear at Leeds Magistrates' Court on Wednesday.
