£750,000 lottery boost for NI heritage jobs

The heritage lottery fund is giving almost £750,000 to help preserve Northern Ireland's heritage.

£250,000 will go towards providing 28 job placements in construction. Builders and trainers will learn traditional crafts to renovate houses.

Another £250,000 will pay for 12 job placements in museums with training in storage and cataloguing.

Conservation Volunteers in NI and Scotland will share £500,000 to train 24 people.

They will be helping communities preserve their natural environment.

It is thought eight of those jobs will be in Northern Ireland.
