Arrest made over St Enoch Square newsagent murder

A man has been arrested over the murder of a woman in a Glasgow newsagents.

It is understood Fatou Saine, 33, died after being stabbed in the McColls shop at St Enoch Square on 1 June.

Ms Saine is believed to have worked in the shop. A man aged in his 40s was also injured in the incident and was taken to hospital.

Strathclyde Police said a 43-year-old man had now been detained in connection with her death. He is expected to appear in court on Tuesday.

Ms Faine lived in the Inverclyde area.

Several shoppers and another member of staff were in the store at the time of the disturbance, but they were not injured.
