Flint man, 55, 'critical' with head injuries

A 21-year-old man has been charged with wounding after another man suffered serious head injuries during the early hours at the weekend.

The 55-year-old was found collapsed in the street near Chester Road and Sydney Street, Flint, at 0020 BST on Saturday.

North Wales Police described the condition of the man, from Flint, as "critical but stable".

The 21-year-old, also from Flint, is due to appear before magistrates.

The injured man was taken to the Countess of Chester Hospital and has since been transferred to the Walton Hospital for neurology and neurosurgery in Liverpool.

A police spokesman said: "In the early hours of Saturday morning North Wales Ambulance Service received a call stating that a male had collapsed in the Sydney Street area of Flint".

Police have asked witnesses to call 101 if in Wales or 0845 607 1002 (English language line), or 0845 607 1001 (Welsh language line).
