Mobility scooter man killed in Lincoln road collision

A 75-year-old man has died from injuries he sustained when his mobility scooter was struck by a car while he was on a pelican crossing in Lincoln.

The accident involving a Vauxhall Corsa happened on Tritton Road at about 1540 BST on Saturday.

Police said the driver of the scooter was taken to Lincoln County Hospital where he later died.

The driver of the car, a 50-year-old local woman, was treated for shock at the same hospital.

The road was closed for several hours following the accident.

Any witnesses have been asked to contact Lincolnshire Police.
