Two people die on crashes on Essex roads

Two people have died in crashes on Essex roads at the weekend.

A 49-year-old female cyclist died on Sunday when she lost control of her bike riding downhill on Mill Road in Lawford near Manningtree.

A motorcyclist, believed to be a 19-year-old from Loughton, died when he was in collision with a pedestrian at Albert Road, Buckhurst Hill on Sunday.

The pedestrian, a local man in his 20s, is being treated at the Royal London Hospital.

The motorcyclist was riding a black and white Suzuki when it collided with the pedestrian.

The road was closed for several hours while investigators examined the scene.

Police said the cyclist in the Lawford accident died shortly after she was taken to Colchester General Hospital with head injuries.
