Motorcyclist dies in Corbridge road crash


A biker has been killed in a collision with a car on a road in rural Northumberland.

The 47-year-old man, from Newcastle, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash on the B6318 Military Road near Corbridge.

Police said the 38-year-old car driver was "helping with inquiries".

Any witnesses to the crash, which happened near the Robin Hood Inn pub just before 1000 BST, should contact the Northumbria force.
