Police in Manchester are trying to trace a man who was injured when he was smashed in the face with a glass in a nightclub.

The man was attacked at about 0230 BST on Sunday 23 May at Remedy in Withington. Staff detained a man, 31, who was later arrested.

The victim, who had blood over his face and neck, left the club and ran off towards the city centre, police said.

Police say they needed to speak to the victim to "ensure justice is done".

He is described as white, 6ft (1.8m) tall and of medium build. He was wearing a checked shirt and jeans.

Det Con Kate Watkins said: "Thankfully it appears the man has, remarkably, escaped serious injury despite being attacked with a potentially deadly weapon.

"The person responsible has used a glass as a weapon and he must be held accountable."

The man who was arrested on suspicion of assault and affray has been released on police bail.
