Police investigating an incident in which a 10-year-old girl was accosted have released an e-fit image of a man they want to trace.

Kent Police said the girl was walking along Coombe Valley Road, Dover, at about 1330 BST on 24 April, when a man driving a small white van parked in front of her.

He got out and asked if she wanted to get in the van, offering her money.

Officers said the girl ran to her home and reported the incident.

The man, who had a local accent, was described as white but tanned, 6ft, chubby build, aged 45 to 50 with white short hair and was wearing a light green jacket and blue jeans.

Police are treating it as an isolated incident, but have advised parents to ensure children are reminded of advice given to them at school about strangers.
