Driver, 95, dies after car crash in Sutton Coldfield

A 95-year-old motorist has died after his car hit a lamppost in the West Midlands.

He was driving his Honda Civic Shuttle along Britwell Road in Boldmere, Sutton Coldfield, when the crash happened at 1200 BST on Friday.

The motorist was taken by ambulance to Good Hope Hospital where he was pronounced dead. It was not believed any other vehicle was involved.

Police asked anyone with information to contact officers at Queens Road.
