A taxi marshalling scheme piloted in Shrewsbury to help drinkers get home safely late at night is to be extended.
Two marshals have been supervising queues from midnight at a taxi rank outside Montgomery's Tower in Claremont Bank, every weekend since March.
Shropshire Council said the six-week trial helped to disperse crowds quickly and reduced anti-social behaviour. The trial is due to continue for 12 months.
A similar trial in Worcestershire has been extended for the World Cup period.
The Shrewsbury pilot scheme has been funded by the Central Shropshire Partnership of regional and public agencies with local voluntary and community organisations.
