Appeal after girl, 10, approached by two men in Brecon


Police are appealing for witnesses after a 10-year-old girl was approached by two men in Powys.

The Dyfed-Powys force said the incident happened in Silver Street, Brecon on Thursday at about 1620 BST.

Police said the the men, one aged in his 50s or 60s and the second in his 80s, were sat in a dark-coloured vehicle.

Officers said the girl fled from the scene, and added that they were appealing for witnesses.

The front seat passenger spoke to the girl from the vehicle causing her sufficient concern to run from the scene, said Det Insp Owain Richards of Dyfed-Powys Police.

He said the driver was described as being in his 50s or 60s, while the passenger, who was wearing a black coat, was balding with wrinkles and was possibly aged in his 80s.

Det Insp Richards reassured the community that officers were committed to identifying the vehicle and its occupants.

They are appealing for the men to come forward.
