Derry man must wear tag on bail
A Londonderry man must wear an electronic tag while on bail following a drugs seizure in Sion Mills.
Paul Hannigan, 39, of Lisfannon Park, appeared before Strabane Magistrates Court charged in connection with the seizure of £30,000 worth of cannabis.
He has been charged with importing the cannabis, two counts of possession, possession with intent to supply and a possession of a Class C drug.
The court heard the drugs were found in bags in Mr Hannigan's car on 2 June.
When interviewed by police Mr Hannigan said he had taken people to Omagh and they had left the bags in the boot.
The court then heard he changed his story, saying that a man he had travelled to Newry to buy a dog from had placed the bags in his car.
Bail was granted by District Judge Liam McNally and, as well as wearing the electronic tag, Mr Hannigan must report regularly to Strand Road police station.
The case was adjourned until 1 July.
