Man's body found by police searching Essex river

Officers searching the River Lea in Essex for a missing man have recovered a body, a police spokesman said.

David Crook, 66, from Waltham Abbey, has not been seen since early on Monday. Police said the body was found in Rammey Marshes, near Waltham Abbey.

The spokesman said Essex Police's marine unit found the body of a man just after lunchtime on Thursday.

Mr Crook's family have been informed of the find but the body has not yet been formally identified.
