Robbers attack 92-year-old man in Manchester street

Robbers threw a partially-sighted 92-year-old man to the floor and threatened him before making off with just £6 in cash.

The man was attacked in Hollyhedge Road in Benchill, Manchester, as he walked home from a trip to the shops on Sunday afternoon.

Police said two men threatened to kill him and ransack his house before going through his pockets and running off.

The victim was left shaken but uninjured.

Officers have released CCTV images of the men wanted in connection with the attack, which happened between 1450 BST and 1515 BST.

The first man was white, of slim to medium build with thinning, greyish hair and was wearing a grey hoodie, blue jeans and white shoes.

The second man was also white, of slim to medium build with very short, dark hair, and was wearing dark trousers, a dark top and dark shoes.

Anyone with information is urged to contact police.
