Family's plane swerves off Stornoway Airport's runway


A light aircraft carrying a family of four has come off the runway at Stornoway Airport on Lewis in the Western Isles.

No-one was injured in the incident which saw a full emergency called at the airfield as a precaution.

Highlands and Islands Fire and Rescue Service, police and ambulance crews were alerted to the incident, which happened at about 1500 BST.

Emergency services said the family's aircraft had swerved off the runway.

The incident happened during take off.
