People are being warned not to approach a murderer who has absconded from an open prison in South Gloucestershire.

Police said Trevor Dixon Williams, 52, who was serving a life sentence, left Leyhill Prison on Monday without his false teeth or medication.

It is thought he may make his way to Hull in East Yorkshire, where he has family. He also has links to West Yorkshire and Humberside.

He is about 6ft (1.83m) tall, heavily built and has a scar behind both knees.

He also has tattoos on both arms. Anyone who sees him is asked to contact police.
