A woman who battered her husband with a child's scooter and burnt him with incense before stabbing him has been jailed for four years.

Thai national Thippawan Croft, 31, attacked Daniel Croft after a row about another woman at their home in Didcot in October 2009.

She had denied causing grievous bodily harm but was found guilty at Oxford Crown Court.

Mr Croft needed 16 stitches for stab wounds to his chest and left arm.

He was attacked by his wife after he had returned from a pub in the Oxfordshire town.

The court heard Mrs Croft has three children, two of whom live in Thailand.

Judge Patrick Eccles told the defendant the incident had been made worse as her other child had witnessed the assault at Brunstock Beck.

He added: "You hit him [Mr Croft], threw articles at him, all in the mistaken belief he was involved with another woman.

"You attacked your husband with a knife and you intended to cause him damage.

"The use of a knife is always an aggravating factor, made worse in that you used it more than once."
