Supervision for boy who burned down his Teesside home

A 10-year-old boy who admitted setting fire to his home, leaving his family trapped inside, has been given a three-year supervision order.

The boy's mother and his three siblings were rescued by fire crews from the house in Middlesbrough on 5 September last year.

The property and its contents were destroyed by the flames.

The boy had admitted arson with intent to endanger life at an earlier hearing.

At Teesside Crown Court, the judge told the youth: "I am not sending you away, but no more fires".
