Two arrested after Bentley man's death

South Yorkshire Police have arrested two people in connection with the death of a man who was found lying injured in a street in Bentley.

John Lockwood, 45, was found with head and internal injuries in the village's Lauder Road on Monday at 0700 BST.

He was taken to Doncaster Royal Infirmary where he later died.

Police arrested a 29-year-old man on suspicion of murder and a 30-year-old woman on suspicion of assisting an offender.

The man and woman, who are both from the Bentley area, are being held in custody and being questioned by police.

Mr Lockwood had been making his way home from the Limbreck Court area when he was attacked.
