Grandmother charged with keeping dangerous dog

The grandmother of a four-year-old mauled to death by a pit-bull has been charged with keeping a dangerous dog.

John Paul Massey suffered fatal injuries when he was savaged by the family pet in Wavertree last November.

Helen Foulkes, 63, of Ash Grove, Wavertree, was charged by police on Monday and is due to appear before magistrates in Liverpool on 10 June.

His uncle, Christian Foulkes, 21, has already admitted breeding and owning a dangerous dog.

He is due to be sentenced at Liverpool Crown Court later.
