Ecstasy recovered from car on M6 in Cumbria

Thousands of ecstasy tablets were found when police stopped a car on the M6 in Cumbria.

The haul, of 15,000 tablets and smaller amounts of cocaine and cannabis, had an estimated street value of £45,000.

It was discovered during a routine stop check by traffic officers on the motorway near Shap on Saturday evening.

Three men were arrested and a 28-year-old was later charged with possession with intent to supply. He will appear before magistrates on Monday.

Two others, aged 19 and 33, were released on bail pending further inquiries.
