Biker dies in collision with car in Argyll

A motorbike rider has died following a collision with a car in Argyll.

The crash happened on the A83 at the foot of the Rest and Be Thankful, near the Ardgarten Visitor Centre, at 1630 BST on Sunday.

Police named the biker as Peter Gait, 51, from Helensburgh.

A 56-year-old woman, who was a passenger in the car, was flown by helicopter to Glasgow's Southern General Hospital but has since been released.
