Six in court after Surrey cannabis raids

Six Vietnamese men and women have appeared in court charged with conspiracy to produce cannabis.

The charges followed a three-month investigation by Surrey Police into large-scale cannabis production by an alleged organised crime gang.

Officers raided five addresses in Croydon, Coulsdon, West Molesey, Isleworth, and Roehampton on Thursday.

The six appeared before Woking magistrates on Saturday and were remanded in custody.

They are due to appear at Guildford Crown Court on 6 August.

The six were among 17 people arrested during Thursday's raids. The other 11 have been released on police bail pending further inquiries.
