Man is re-arrested over fatal stabbing in Manchester

A man has been re-arrested in connection with the murder of Karl Hodson, who was found stabbed in a Manchester street.

Police discovered Mr Hodson, 31, in Harold Priestnall Close, Newton Heath, at about 1840 BST on 23 March. He died in hospital shortly afterwards.

Police said the man, 27, was arrested on suspicion of murder shortly after Mr Hodson's death and was later bailed.

Jamie Smith, 27, from Newton Heath, has been charged with murder.

Mr Smith, of Petrock Walk, is due to appear at Manchester Crown Court in July.

A 23-year-old man, who was also arrested on suspicion of murder, has been bailed until 6 July, police said.
