A nursery in South Lanarkshire has been hailed as one of the best in Scotland after getting top marks from education inspectors.
Cathkin Community Nursery in Cambuslang received five excellent ratings in its latest HMIe report.
Inspectors said children at the nursery were confident and highly motivated to learn.
Staff were also praised for developing strong partnerships with parents.
Last year the nursery received a glowing report from the Care Commission.
It is also the first educational establishment in South Lanarkshire to score top marks under HMIe's new method of inspection.
Inspectors also highlighted the effective leadership of the nursery as among its key strengths.
Head of the centre, Liz Mercer, said: "We are thrilled with our HMIe report as it highlights the hard work of all the staff and children here at the nursery.
"It also highlights the excellent links we have with parents, which is so important in ensuring that our children get the very best start in life.
"I think the world of my staff, and know that they go that extra mile to ensure that the children and parents get the best quality of care within our nursery."
Inspectors said that due to the very good quality of education provided by the nursery there were no further visits required.
Their only recommendation was that the nursery continued to develop its outdoor play area as planned.
