The parents of a seven-month-old baby girl from Lancashire who died after suffering a number of injuries have been charged with neglect.

Aliyaah Karolia died from bronchopneumonia brought on by damage caused to her bones and central nervous system, an inquest heard in March.

Mohammed Karolia, 27, and Nafisa Karolia, 21, of Blackburn, each face two counts of neglect.

The couple will appear at Blackburn Magistrates' Court on 9 June.

They had taken their daughter to Royal Blackburn Hospital on 15 June 2009 with breathing difficulties. She died later that day.

Both Mr and Mrs Karolia gave evidence at the inquest into Aliyaah's death, where Coroner Michael Singleton recorded a narrative verdict.
