A man who died in a house fire in Aberdeen has been formally identified.

Kevin Dukes, who would have turned 43 on Wednesday, was found dead at Talisman Drive in the Garthdee area on Monday afternoon.

Grampian Police said the cause of death had still to be established but there were no apparent suspicious circumstances.

A spokesman added: "Unfortunately the family dog which was in the house at the time also succumbed to the fire."

The emergency services were called to the property just after 1400 BST.

A report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.
