Fresh appeal over Newton Stewart woman's death
Police have renewed their appeals for information about the death of a 32-year-old woman from Newton Stewart.
Wendy Kelly was found unconscious in a house in the town's Hillview Terrace early in the morning on 17 May.
She was taken to Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary for treatment but died later the same day.
A police spokesman said a post-mortem examination had established that Ms Kelly died as a result of a head injury.
Det Insp Mark Hollis said Galloway CID was determined to establish exactly how she died.
He said an incident room had been set up at Stranraer Police Station.
"We have conducted extensive examinations around the area Wendy was found, which we hope will give us further clues to explain her death," he said.
"It is vitally important that we piece together her last movements.
"We still need to speak to anyone who may have seen Wendy during the weekend before she died."
Mr Hollis said Ms Kelly's family had been supportive of the police inquiry and had also appealed for anyone with information to come forward.
