Private Ryan on Blu-ray recalled
- Published

Up to 100,000 copies of Saving Private Ryan in Blu-ray format have been recalled because of an audio error.
The fault, which left the sound out of sync, was on a special edition disc on sale in the US, UK and parts of Europe.
Shops have removed affected copies, while consumers who have already bought a faulty copy can have them replaced.
The recall comes weeks after the release of Avatar on Blu-ray revealed some buyers needed to download an upgrade in order to play it.
Copies of Saving Private Ryan on Blu-ray without the fault are expected to be available by 18 May.
The problem has been blamed on Technicolor, the company which transfers films into the latest Blu-ray format.
A phone line has been set up for UK consumers, with details of how to obtain a replacement copy. The freephone number is 0800 0852 613.
