I really enjoyed the course, one of the best courses I have attended in my time at the BBC!
These conferences have been held for a number of years and have proved to be of much help and value to those about to retire. They are intended for members of the BBC Pension Scheme who are approaching age 55 or over and are about to claim pension benefits upon leaving the BBC or thinking of taking flexible retirement or reaching normal pension age.

Independent Financial Advice
The pension service line cannot give you any financial advice. You should consider taking independent financial advice before making any decision about your options and whether to take your benefits now. For those aged 55 or over, the BBC has made available independent funded advice via WPS Advisory Limited, who are regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority, to support members considering their options. The BBC has also engaged KPMG to provide an online planning tool called Pilot to assist members.
If you are aged 55 or over and thinking about taking your pension benefits now and wish to use Pilot and/or take advice from WPS Advisory Ltd which is paid for by the BBC then please contact our service line at myPension@bbc.co.uk or by calling 029 2032 2811. Your details will then be shared with WPS Advisory Ltd and KPMG who will contact you directly. Please provide a valid email address when you get in touch.
As an alternative or in addition to receiving advice from WPS Advisory Ltd, you can appoint your own financial adviser at your own cost. You can find details of advisers in your area by visiting unbiased.co.uk. Pension guidance is also available to help you understand your options in relation to what you can do with your AVC funds. See below for information on Pension Wise for more details.
Pension wise is a new service from the government that offers free and impartial guidance to help you. Pension wise offers tailored guidance either online, over the telephone or face to face. You can contact Pension Wise at pensionwise.gov.uk or by calling 0800 138 3944 between 8am and 10pm.
Pension tracing service
If you have lost track of your pension benefits with a previous employer or scheme, you can contact the Department of Work and Pensions' Pension Tracing Service. They will give you an up-to-date address for the trustees of that scheme.
