Supermassive space rock

Having conquered the Glastonbury main stage last year with their Saturday headline slot featuring a guest appearance by U2's The Edge, Teignmouth trio Muse make their only European festival appearance this year when they take to the stage at Reading and Leeds. With a reputation for stunning live shows to accompany their prog rock power, Muse have consistently upped the ante to become one of the most successful rock acts around the world. As of this year they've chalked up over 10 million album sales worldwide and are due to begin recording their sixth album later this year. In the meantime, expect to hear many of their epic hits from Grammy award winning album The Resistance when they return to the festival.

Virtual Festivals 24 August 2011

It's grand, but a hit or two from being a real season highlight.

The two hour set is still available on iplayer! If you want to watch the lot then see it quick before it goes. I was there and it was an amazing show!

Great. Now they've removed 5 songs from the original highlights too. And all the riffs and interludes which make a Muse set more than any other set. Anyone watching this would think "meh, this was nothing special". I understand (despite being disappointed) that the band wished to keep most of the OoS play exclusive to the fans who were there; but why have the BBC now cut their own highlights? Doesn't help the band at all.

You know, if Fearn Cotton had said "and here's a selection of big hits from Muse who played live earlier" then it wouldn't be so bad. But first of all Reggie Yates said "and here come Muse onto the stage now" after a 50 minute delay, and secondly Fearn Cotton said that we'd be seeing loads of beautiful songs from Origin. But we only saw 3. Obviously there's problems with Muse not wanting the full set to be shown and stuff, but the BBC didn't need to lead us to believe that it was live, which was pretty much what they did.

This was literally incredible! Origin of Symmetry is my favourite album by far and I was completely in my zone!! It's nice to watch highlights and see the bits you couldn't because the world's tallest man was in your way =)
