Joshua Pierce, pianist, born June 19, 1950 in New York City. Mr. Pierce hails from a theatrical family his father, choreographer Johnny Pierce, his mother, and his aunt, Louise Platt As one of the leading exponents of the works of John Cage, he was the recipient of the 1991 Preises der Deutschen Schallplattenkritik[1] for his WERGO recordings of John Cage's Works for Piano, Toy Piano & Prepared Piano (Vol.III)[2]Tranlsation[3] Mr. Pierce continues to be a leading exponent of contemporary microtonal music with his collaboration with composer Michael Harrison and the World Premier performance of Revelation written for the Harmonically Tuned Piano and performed in its 90 minute entirety as a webcast for NewMusicBox[4]
