Music Life

Sunday 4 August

8.00pm-9.00pm

BBC WORLD SERVICE

Music Life is a brand new weekly series and podcast in which musicians talk to musicians about all aspects of life making music.

In this first episode our host is American singer-songwriter John Grant (ex The Czars). He’s joined by the frontman and founder of Pulp, Jarvis Cocker, as well as Simon Raymonde (Cocteau Twins) and Gruff Rhys (Super Furry Animals).

Led by John, all three discuss what they do the nights before gigging on tour. And they’ll be thinking about when they realised they were good enough to be recording artists, and how they deal with nerves before their biggest shows.

John aims to get to the bottom of how they all do what they do, and why they do it.

In part two, Gruff Rhys plays some of his favourite tracks and tells stories around them.
