Paradise - What Took You So Long?

Friday 3 May

In the final episode of BBC Radio 5 Live’s latest true crime podcast Paradise, the key characters featured throughout the series give their thoughts on the tragic deaths of the young couple from Manchester who were murdered in Belize in 1978.

The only suspect, Silas Duane Boston, was not arrested for 38 years, despite his sons claiming they had witnessed their father kill Chris Farmer and Peta Frampton. Boston died in custody before he could be brought to justice.

The programme team confront the FBI on their apparent inaction in the case, and they also speak to Interpol UK, the National Crime Agency and The Home Office to try to get some answers on the opportunities they missed in trying to resolve the case, which would have brought some kind of closure to the families of Peta Frampton and Chris Farmer.

Paradise ends as friends and relatives recall their memories of the couple and reflect on the damage Boston wrought on the lives of so many people.

Paradise is the third podcast of its type made by BBC Radio 5 Live who have already scored big successes with its previous true crime series: the award winning Beyond Reasonable Doubt and End of Days (based on the story of the siege of Waco, Texas).
