The Cambridge Spies: Another Country

Ep 1/1

Sunday 26 May

The first radio production of Julian Mitchell's award-winning play about two boys at a public school in the 1930s, a school not dissimilar to Eton.

Both outsiders, one openly homosexual, the other a Marxist, they find themselves caught up in a battle against the school's oppressive elite following the suicide of one of the pupils. The play is loosely based on the life of the spy Guy Burgess. With Ben Righton as Bennett and Tom Hiddleston (star of Warhorse and The Avengers) as Judd.

First broadcast on Radio 4 in 1981.
