Tuesday 26 June

10.35pm-12.05am

BBC ONE

Opening the new series for BBC One, Imagine tells the remarkable story of a collaboration between two unlikely partners that led to a ground-breaking West End play which shocked, entertained and inspired all who saw it.

Imagine...Theatre of War captures every aspect of rehearsals, right up to the triumphant performance of The Two Worlds of Charlie F, as professional frontline soldiers, all of them badly injured, join forces with a professional theatre company.

Some have amputations, some suffer post traumatic stress, one has a severe brain injury but, despite their injuries, they helped write, rehearse and perform a play based on their own experiences of war in the killing fields of Afghanistan.

What happened when they swapped the theatre of war for the London stage? Imagine follows the whole process, from rehearsal room to triumphant performance, to tell this extraordinarily moving and powerful story.

To coincide with Imagine…Theatre of War, the play The Two Worlds of Charlie F will be available to watch in full on http://www.thespace.org and on Freeview HD channel 117 from 26 June.
