Interview with Peter Dean, 78, Actor.

What was the most memorable part of the experience?

The visit to the Golden Temple followed by the laughing yoga in the park. The visits to the park, wow - what a way to meet the local people. So much happened in the park, it was great to be part of.

What surprised you the most?

After watching documentaries about India over the years, mainly showing the negative aspects of lives and cities, I was surprised by the beauty of the country and the people that I met. I was humbled that they have so much time for each other and I felt relaxed in their company.

What was your role within the group?

I embraced the experience and hoped others followed my energy.

Did the experience allow you time to reflect?

I started to reflect more after my visit and stay at the retreat. The journey of self-reflection really started there for me. I am always a little cautious in new situations, but after the retreat everything fell into place for me.

Did you learn anything about yourself?

The whole trip enabled me to find in myself a more spiritual path.

Tell us about one of your adventures…

I had many adventures and the memories of them will stay always with me. The Monkey Temple and the visit to the monkeys and the story of Ajay and why he visits there. The invite to the Hindu family and having a lovely meal cooked for me. I was so welcomed in a traditional Hindu way. The Hare Krishna temple where a petal fell from the statue and I was given the petal to keep. So many adventures.

Would you return to the country?

I hope to go next year.
