The Ballads Of The Games

Category: Radio 2
This series of six one-hour documentaries in radio ballad format celebrates some of the most significant athletes, moments and unforgettable sporting achievements in the history of the Olympics.

Narrator-less, the stories are told through first-hand accounts and songs specially written from the memories recounted.

Beginning with Olympics Through The Ages, the series revisits the Berlin Games of 1936 and the Munich Massacre of 1972, and considers the agony and ecstasy of Olympic competition, as well as the controversies, boycotts and protests.
